On November 5, the holy city of Kashi (Varanasi) came alive with an overwhelming surge of devotion as Kartik Purnima celebrations unfolded along the crescent-shaped ghats of the Ganga. As the first rays of sunlight touched the river, millions of devotees gathered for the sacred ritual of bathing, believed to cleanse sins and bestow spiritual merit.
This auspicious day, dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, also marks the celebration of Dev Deepawali, when the entire city is adorned with lamps, chants, and spiritual fervor. To manage the influx, the district administration implemented a robust plan by dividing the ghats into 10 zones and 18 operational sectors.
