The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall across Kerala for the next three days, with a yellow alert issued for Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Kottayam, and Pathanamthitta on June 10. The alert warns of isolated heavy showers, signaling a shift in weather patterns.
 
Currently, weak westerlies and northwesterlies are prevailing over Kerala and Lakshadweep, contributing to sporadic rainfall. The IMD bulletin highlights that while the southwest monsoon remains weak, a change in weather conditions is expected from June 10, potentially intensifying rainfall.
 
Experts suggest that the yellow alert districts may experience rainfall between 7–11 cm in 24 hours, with localized flooding risks in low-lying areas. Residents are advised to stay updated on weather advisories and take necessary precautions.
