Kerala’s High-Powered Committee has approved infrastructure development projects worth ₹1,441.24 crore under NABARD’s Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) Tranche 31. The multi-sectoral plan spans forest protection, solar irrigation, canal renovation, and rural development, aligned with the state’s normative allocation of ₹550 crore.
Kerala Accelerates Rural Growth With NABARD-Funded Infra Push
In a major boost to rural infrastructure, Kerala’s High-Powered Committee chaired by Chief Secretary A. Jayathilak has granted in-principle approval for ₹1,441.24 crore worth of development projects under Tranche 31 of NABARD’s RIDF. The decision supports Kerala’s strategic focus on sustainable agriculture, water management, and forest protection.
The Forest Department has been allocated ₹159.64 crore for rapid response units, forest station complexes, and office infrastructure upgrades. The Power Department will receive ₹199.70 crore to install 5,689 solar pumps for agricultural beneficiaries. Additionally, ₹176.42 crore has been earmarked for canal renovation under the Water Resources Department, focusing on the Pazhassi and Karappuzha irrigation schemes.
