Kerala is rapidly transforming into a business-friendly state, according to Food and Civil Supplies Minister G R Anil. Speaking at the Indo-Continental Trade and Entrepreneurship Council’s Business Summit and the Tusker Awards, Minister Anil highlighted Kerala’s evolving commercial landscape and its commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and industry growth.

He pointed to major initiatives such as the Vizhinjam International Port, which is positioning Kerala as a gateway for global trade and ushering in a new era of economic opportunity. The state’s proactive reforms include the elimination of panchayat license requirements for select industrial ventures, streamlining of licensing procedures, and the rollout of the K-SMART digital governance platform to local bodies. These measures, implemented by the Local Self-Government Department, have significantly boosted Kerala’s ranking in ease of doing business and improved service delivery across municipalities and corporations.

The state’s business-friendly policies are further supported by robust infrastructure, a highly skilled workforce, and progressive digital initiatives. Kerala’s high literacy rate, quality of life, and investor-friendly environment were recognized at the recent Invest Kerala Global Summit, where leaders emphasized the state’s readiness to attract domestic and global investments across diverse sectors.

The Tusker Awards at the summit honored outstanding achievements in innovation, sustainability, and business excellence, reinforcing Kerala’s reputation as a hub for entrepreneurial talent and forward-thinking enterprises.
