Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the Khelo India Youth Games 2025, calling them a resounding success and a testament to India's growing sporting prowess. The event, hosted across five cities in Bihar, saw over 5,000 athletes competing in various disciplines, with Maharashtra, Haryana, and Rajasthan emerging as the top three medal winners.
PM Modi highlighted the record-breaking performances, noting that 26 new records were set, including standout achievements in weightlifting and athletics. Maharashtra’s Sairaj Pardesi created three records, while Odisha’s Harshvardhan Sahu and Uttar Pradesh’s Tushar Chaudhary impressed in weightlifting. Bihar also made its mark, securing 36 medals in total.
This edition of the Games was the first to be broadcast globally via the Olympic channel, bringing India’s young sporting talent to an international audience. PM Modi emphasized the importance of such tournaments in nurturing future champions, stating that events like Khelo India will continue to shape the future of Indian sports.
