In a groundbreaking move that blends digital innovation with cultural transformation, Infosys, the global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting, has announced a strategic partnership with GLION ARENA KOBE, a landmark entertainment venue in Japan. This collaboration positions Infosys as the Official Digital Innovation and Green Transformation (GX) Partner of the arena, marking a bold step toward redefining live entertainment experiences through cutting-edge technology and sustainability.
The partnership was unveiled by Infosys and One Bright KOBE, the company operating GLION ARENA KOBE, in a joint statement that emphasized their shared vision for a smarter, greener, and more immersive entertainment future.
A Fusion of Tech and Culture
GLION ARENA KOBE, set to open in 2025, is a next-generation multipurpose venue located in the heart of Kobe. Designed to host concerts, sports events, exhibitions, and community gatherings, the arena is part of the city’s broader revitalization efforts following the 30th anniversary of the Great Hanshin Earthquake. With a seating capacity of 10,000 and a panoramic view of the Kobe waterfront, the arena is poised to become a cultural and economic hub.
Infosys will bring its AI-first and cloud-first capabilities to the arena through its proprietary Infosys Cobalt platform. This includes intelligent automation, data analytics, and cloud infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency, reduce carbon footprint, and deliver seamless digital experiences to fans and visitors.
"We are thrilled to be the digital and GX partner for GLION ARENA KOBE," said Hideyuki Aoki, Country Head of Infosys Japan. "This partnership reflects our commitment to driving innovation and sustainability in Japan. By integrating AI, cloud, and smart technologies, we aim to create unforgettable experiences while supporting Kobe’s vision for a resilient and vibrant future."
Green Transformation at the Core
One of the most ambitious aspects of the partnership is its focus on Green Transformation. Infosys will help GLION ARENA KOBE monitor and reduce its carbon emissions using advanced data visualization and predictive modeling tools. This initiative is part of the TOTTEI ALL GREEN ACTION program, a public-private collaboration aimed at building sustainable urban ecosystems.
"GLION ARENA KOBE is more than just a venue—it’s a symbol of Kobe’s rebirth and a beacon for sustainable development," said Jun Shibuya, President of One Bright KOBE. "Partnering with Infosys allows us to leverage world-class technology to create a smarter, greener, and more inclusive space for everyone."
The arena will feature smart energy systems, eco-friendly materials, and digital signage powered by renewable sources. Infosys will also support the development of mobile apps and digital platforms to enhance visitor engagement, ticketing, and real-time event updates.
A Gateway to Innovation
As part of the collaboration, Infosys has secured naming rights for the arena’s west entrance, now officially called the “Infosys Gate.” This symbolic gesture underscores the company’s long-term commitment to Japan’s digital transformation and its growing presence in the region.
The Infosys Gate will serve as a central access point to the TOTTEI WEST CORRIDOR, a vibrant zone featuring food, retail, and social spaces. It is designed to be a daily destination for locals and tourists alike, not just during events but as part of Kobe’s urban lifestyle.
Infosys and GLION ARENA KOBE also plan to co-host tech-driven cultural events, including AI-powered art installations, esports tournaments, and interactive exhibitions that celebrate Indo-Japanese collaboration.
Strategic Implications
This partnership is a strategic win for Infosys as it deepens its footprint in Japan, one of Asia’s most technologically advanced yet culturally nuanced markets. It also aligns with Infosys’ global ESG goals and its commitment to being a carbon-neutral company.
For GLION ARENA KOBE, the collaboration brings world-class digital infrastructure and global visibility, setting a new benchmark for entertainment venues across Asia.
