In a spectacular show of power-hitting, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) thrashed Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 8 wickets, chasing down a modest target of 104 in just 10.1 overs. After CSK managed only 103/9 in their 20 overs, KKR’s openers came out all guns blazing.
Sunil Narine stole the show with a fiery 44 off just 18 balls, smashing 5 sixes and 2 boundaries at a strike rate of 244.44. Quinton de Kock gave KKR a solid start with 23 off 16 deliveries before being dismissed by Anshul Kamboj. Ajinkya Rahane (20* off 17) and Rinku Singh (15* off 12) calmly finished the chase after Narine’s explosive cameo.
None of the CSK bowlers managed to make a significant impact, with Khaleel Ahmed going for 40 runs in 3 overs and Jadeja leaking 9 in just a single delivery.
Earlier, Chennai’s batting faltered with no batter able to take charge. KKR's bowlers dominated, setting up a clinical win that boosted their net run rate significantly and solidified their position in the points table.
