Kuantum Papers Reignites Production with PM-4 Restart at Saila Khurd

Kuantum Papers Ltd has successfully restarted Paper Machine4 (PM4) at its flagship facility in Saila Khurd, Punjab, marking a pivotal moment in its ongoing expansion and modernization drive. The move is expected to boost production capacity by 20%, while enhancing energy efficiency and reducing operational costs.
 
The restart follows a strategic collaboration with Bellmer, a global leader in paper machinery, aimed at upgrading PM4 to meet rising demand for ecofriendly and highperformance paper products. The revamped machine is now equipped to handle a wider GSM range and produce specialty grades for packaging, publishing, and office use.

  • PM4’s restart is part of Kuantum’s broader backward integration project, which includes expanded pulping capacity and a new chemical recovery plant.
  • The Saila Khurd facility now boasts a total paper production capacity of 450 TPD, with sustainable power generation of 38 MW, primarily from biomass.
  • Kuantum’s product portfolio includes Maplitho, Creamwove, Thermal Paper, Cupstock, and ecofriendly straw paper.
  • The company’s strategic location at the foothills of the Shivalik Range ensures steady access to agro and wood raw materials.
