Chinese tech firms such as Oppo, Vivo, and OnePlus are accelerating localisation efforts in India, as per government orders and the "Make in India" program. Vivo has stated that more than 90% of components of its phones, including motherboards and batteries, are imported locally. Oppo is also looking to tie up with Indian players such as Tata Electronics to beef up its semiconductor and display supply chain. These efforts aim to cut imports and enhance India's manufacturing capacity. With investments in new factories and joint ventures with Indian suppliers, these firms are poised to be the drivers of India's electronics growth story.
