Hyderabad-based Lokesh Machines Ltd. (LMT) has announced a major defense contract worth ₹63 million from Assam Rifles, India’s oldest paramilitary force. The order covers 1,013 ASMI submachine guns, designed and manufactured under the Indigenously Designed, Developed, and Manufactured (IDDM) category.

This achievement highlights the increasing reliance on Indian defense manufacturers and aligns with the government’s push for indigenous production. Lokesh Machines had previously supplied ASMI weapons to the Indian Army’s Special Forces, and this new contract further consolidates its position as a trusted supplier in the defense sector.
