Madhya Pradesh Unveils Rs 3,134 Crore Road Development Plan to Boost Connectivity

The Madhya Pradesh government has launched an ambitious road development initiative, allocating Rs 3,134 crore to construct and upgrade key infrastructure across the state. The plan aims to build 1,425 kilometers of roads in the financial year 2025, enhancing connectivity and supporting economic growth.
 
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, while reviewing the progress of road projects at the 46th Board of Directors meeting of the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation, emphasized the importance of timely execution and adherence to quality standards. Officials have been directed to implement modern construction technologies and ensure that citizens benefit from improved road networks without delays.
 
The state has already completed 1,127 kilometers of road construction in the previous financial year, utilizing Rs 1,586 crore. Additionally, Rs 2,761.47 crore was allocated for capital development works, with Rs 280.79 crore spent on maintenance. The new plan builds on these efforts, with tenders floated for reconstruction, bituminous renewal, strengthening, and toll collection on designated routes.
 
A key highlight of the initiative is the proposed realignment of National Highway No. 46 between Bhopal and Jabalpur, aimed at reducing travel distance and improving inter-city connectivity. The government has also awarded contracts worth Rs 3,443.72 crore for 35 road projects, ensuring that work progresses efficiently.
