Mahindra & Mahindra launched the XEV 9S, a purpose-built 7-seater electric SUV designed on the advanced INGLO skateboard platform. Packed with cutting-edge technology, spacious interiors, and advanced safety features, it marks a strategic leap in India’s EV segment.
Mahindra & Mahindra has officially launched the XEV 9S, the company’s first authentic 7-seater electric SUV, at the ‘Scream Electric’ event in Bengaluru. Unlike converted internal combustion engine models, the XEV 9S is built ground-up on the dedicated INGLO electric platform, offering superior space, comfort, and performance.
The SUV features a flat-floor design for maximum cabin space, sliding second-row seats for flexibility, and an impressive tri-screen digital setup, including a heads-up display. Exterior styling borrows design cues from the popular XUV700 but includes a distinctive fascia with full-width LED light bars and aerodynamic alloy wheels.
Powering the XEV 9S is a rear-wheel-drive 282bhp motor paired with BYD’s Blade battery pack, delivering an expected range of around 500-550 km per charge. It promises advanced driver assistance systems (Level 2 ADAS), Harman Kardon audio, panoramic sunroof, multi-zone climate control, and multiple wireless charging points.
Priced between Rs 21-30 lakh (ex-showroom), the XEV 9S targets large families and EV enthusiasts, directly competing with models like the Tata Harrier EV and BYD eMax 7.
