Mahindra & Mahindra is preparing for a massive expansion, with the launch of a new vehicle platform on August 15, 2025. The new platform, tentatively named the New Flexible Architecture (NFA), will underpin a variety of vehicles-petrol, diesel, hybrid, and all-electric vehicles-making it a pillar of Mahindra's future product plan. The firm is gearing up to produce as many as 1.2 lakh units of vehicles annually on this platform from its Chakan plant, with complete operation by fiscal 2026.

In order to address burgeoning demand and accommodate its expanding SUV and EV business, Mahindra also announced a new greenfield manufacturing facility solely for passenger vehicles. The factory, due to begin production by FY28, will enhance capacity and enable Mahindra to meet its ambitious goals, such as launching seven new ICE SUVs and five EVs by 2030.

These developments come on the back of Mahindra's renewed market momentum, with SUV volumes rising 14% in the previous year and strong demand for launches like the XUV 3XO and Thar Roxx. The company is seriously considering state benefits for the new facility's location, marking a considerable investment in India's automotive future.
