Maruti Suzuki has unveiled an ambitious plan to reclaim 50% of India's passenger vehicle market by 2030. The company aims to increase its annual production capacity to 4 million units, with 3 million for domestic sales and 1 million for exports. This strategy aligns with projections of India's car market reaching 6 million units annually by 2030. To achieve this goal, Maruti Suzuki will expand its product lineup, particularly in the SUV and electric vehicle segments. The company plans to introduce six new electric models by 2030, starting with the eVX in 2025. This aggressive growth plan comes as India cements its position as the world's third-largest automobile market.
