Bollywood actor Jaideep Ahlawat has raised eyebrows with his recent confession about his diet during childhood—an amazing 40 rotis and 1.5 litres of milk daily, without gaining an ounce of weight. In an interview with a YouTube show Khaane Mei Kaun Hai, Ahlawat credited his village upbringing and manual outdoor work to keeping his gigantic appetite in check.

Early Food Habits
  • Grew up in a Haryana village, Jaideep skipped formal lunches and munched on farm fruits and vegetables in season like sugarcane, carrots, and guavas
  • Breakfast was chane, bajre ki roti, or missi roti with lassi, homemade butter, and chutney
  • The diet staple was milk—half a litre consumed three times a day, sipped from a jug or lota, not a glass
Metabolism and Lifestyle
  • Despite being tall, Jaideep's weight was never more than 70 kg until 2008
  • He attributed it to regular exercise, which helped to burn the excess calorie consumption
  • Even today, he likes home food more than party food as he is attached to his roots.
Transformation and Discipline
  • Jaideep's highest weight during lockdown was 109.7 kg
  • For Maharaj, he dropped over 26 kg in five months on a high-protein, calorie-deficit diet and three times a day training
  • He resisted sugar and colas, but lagged behind on old favorites such as pav bhaji and chole bhature
  • Jaideep's story is a poignant blend of nostalgia, discipline, and the eternal wonder of Indian rural cuisine.
