MOIL Ltd has kicked off FY26 with a robust performance, reporting 502,000 tonnes of manganese ore production during the April–June quarter, including 168,000 tonnes in June 2025 alone. The figures reflect a steady growth trajectory for India’s largest manganese ore producer, reinforcing its operational strength amid global commodity headwinds.

The quarterly output marks an 8% year-on-year increase, driven by improved shaft utilization, enhanced mechanization, and favorable weather conditions across its Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh mines. June’s standalone production also signals consistency, following record outputs in April and May.

MOIL’s strategic push includes capacity expansion projects at its Gumgaon and Balaghat mines, aiming to double environmental clearance capacity to 5 million tonnes per annum by 2030. The company has also ramped up exploratory drilling, clocking over 13,000 meters in May, a 17.5% YoY jump.

Key Highlights:

Q1 FY26 Production: 502,000 tonnes of manganese ore.

June Output: 168,000 tonnes, maintaining monthly momentum.

Growth Drivers: Mechanization, shaft upgrades, and favorable mining conditions.

Exploration Surge: Drilling activity up 58% YoY in April and 17.5% in May.

Market Outlook: Domestic alloy demand rising; Gabon’s 2029 export ban may boost MOIL’s pricing power.

With India’s manganese demand projected to hit 11 mtpa by 2030, MOIL’s performance and expansion strategy position it as a key player in the country’s steel and battery materials supply chain.
