India's favorite skipper MS Dhoni has been formally inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame, the 11th Indian to be included in the exclusive list. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) expressed its sincerest compliments to Dhoni and thanked him for his unrivaled services to Indian cricket.
A Legacy of Leadership and Achievements
Dhoni is the sole cricket captain to have won all three ICC white-ball competitions—the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy.
His captaincy revolutionized Indian cricket, instilling calm in times of pressure and redefining the art of a finisher in the limited-overs game.
His 183* in an un-beaten innings against Sri Lanka in 2005 is the record highest individual wicketkeeper's score in ODIs.
Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
Induction was carried out in London, before the final of the ICC World Test Championship.
Dhoni joins a select group that has some of cricket's greatest players ever such as Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and Kapil Dev.
Other than Dhoni, Hashim Amla, Matthew Hayden, Graeme Smith, and Daniel Vettori were named in the Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
Dhoni's Reflection on the Honor
Gratefully acknowledging this, Dhoni said that being part of cricket's all-time best players is something he will always treasure.
ICC Chairman Jay Shah emphasized that the Hall of Fame recognizes players whose careers have enriched the history of the sport and motivated generations to come.
