The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has launched ‘Active CISCE’, a comprehensive initiative aimed at assessing and enhancing the physical fitness of students from Classes I to XII. Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the program emphasizes the crucial role of physical activity in holistic child development.
Key Highlights:
Mandatory Registration: All CISCE-affiliated schools must register their students on the CISCE physical health and fitness assessment web portal, launching July 15, 2025, with registration closing by September 30.
Fitness Tracking: The portal offers age- and grade-specific test modules, video tutorials for assessments and fitness improvement, and real-time data syncing with school dashboards.
Comprehensive Reports: Each student receives an online fitness report card detailing baseline fitness scores, progress tracking, lifestyle indicators (diet, screen time, sleep), and sports skill badges to identify early talent.
Teacher Training: CISCE will conduct online and offline training for physical education teachers to ensure effective implementation.
Curriculum Integration: Physical fitness activities and assessments will be integrated into the school curriculum, promoting not only physical health but also socio-emotional and cognitive growth.
Registration Linked to Exams: For Classes IX and XI, registration and data submission on the portal are prerequisites for ICSE and ISC exam entries.
Outlook:
‘Active CISCE’ is set to transform school environments into vibrant fitness hubs, fostering healthier, happier, and well-rounded students prepared for academic and life challenges.
