Starting February 17, 2025, new FASTag rules are now in effect, imposing stricter penalties for inactive tags and delayed payments. Transactions will be declined if a FASTag has been inactive for over 60 minutes before reaching a toll plaza and remains inactive for 10 minutes after passing. Users may face double toll charges for blacklisted tags. Delayed transactions processed beyond 15 minutes may incur additional fees. A 15-day cooling period is mandatory before raising chargebacks for incorrect deductions. To avoid issues, users should maintain sufficient balance, regularly check tag status, and monitor transaction times. These changes aim to streamline toll payments and reduce disputes, ensuring smoother travel experiences for compliant users.
