In spite of increasing hope in the wake of India-Pakistan ceasefire, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla has made it clear that no final decision has been taken on the resumption of IPL 2025. "The ceasefire has just been announced, give us some time, we will discuss and then only a decision will be taken," Shukla informed, adding that the IPL Governing Council and officials of the BCCI will sit together and go through all the possibilities and arrive at the best possible schedule for the remaining 16 matches.

While reports indicate that the board is planning to revive the tournament as early as May 16 or 17 and the venues of Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad are on the table, Shukla insisted that nothing has been decided until proper consultations with stakeholders and government officials are done. The IPL was interrupted for a week owing to security issues, and the majority of overseas players have already left, further complicating the revival of the league.
