Odisha’s Young Innovators Take Center Stage at Global Startup Fest in the USA

 A New Wave of Innovation from Odisha  
Eight young talents from Odisha are set to represent India at the ISF Global Unicorns Startup Festival in Dallas, USA, on May 29 and 30. These budding innovators, selected through a six-month-long talent hunt conducted by the Young Tinker Foundation, will showcase groundbreaking projects that blend technology with real-world problem-solving.  

 Key Developments in Innovation  
- Agricultural Nano Satellite – Chiranjibi and Digbijay, Class 10 students from Soro in Balasore, have developed YTSAT 2.0, a helium balloon-powered device that collects soil, water, and air data to help farmers determine the most profitable crops for their land.  
- Portable Ethanol Production – Kaushik Kar and Sridhar Jena have designed a compact machine that converts dry organic waste, such as vegetable peels and leaves, into ethanol, offering a sustainable energy solution.  
- Custom Spice Blending – P. Aditya Das and Soumya Saurabh have created Masala GPT, a device that prepares customized spice blends tailored to individual cooking preferences.  
- Solar-Powered Vehicle – Sai Satyam Pradhan from Nimapada has developed Sovadi, a solar-powered car model that generates electricity through panels installed on the vehicle.  
- Innovative Fashion and Tools – Jagyan Mishra from Bhubaneswar will present EDEN, a collection of clothing and hand-built tools designed for practical utility.  

 The Selection Process and Global Recognition  
The Young Tinker Foundation’s talent hunt spanned 150 schools, engaging around 30,000 students in a rigorous selection process. Founder and CEO Anil Pradhan emphasized that the initiative provides a platform for young minds to address real-world challenges through innovation.  

With this global opportunity, Odisha’s young innovators will not only showcase their talent but also bring pride to their home state on an international stage.
