Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn are officially reuniting for Golmaal FIVE, their 14th collaboration, once Shetty wraps up his current project—a biopic on former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria starring John Abraham. The biopic is expected to finish filming by September 2025, with editing locked by year-end for an early 2026 release.

Once that’s done, Shetty will dive straight into pre-production for Golmaal FIVE, aiming to take it on floors by February or March 2026. The screenplay is currently being developed by a new team of writers, with the core plot already finalized. The script is expected to be locked by September 2025, followed by dialogue and polish work.

The film will bring back the franchise’s beloved ensemble—Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade, and Johnny Lever—for another round of chaotic comedy. A theatrical release is being targeted for early 2027.

The Golmaal series, which began in 2006, has become one of Bollywood’s most successful comedy franchises, known for its slapstick humor and quirky characters. With Golmaal FIVE, Shetty is looking to return to lighter storytelling after a string of high-octane action films.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn has a packed slate, including Son of Sardaar 2, Drishyam 3, and Total Dhamaal 2, all expected to wrap before he joins the Golmaal set.
