Open Philanthropy, a San Francisco-based grantmaking foundation, has announced the launch of a new $120 million fund to support Yes-in-My-Backyard (YIMBY) reforms. The Abundance and Growth Fund, set to operate over the next three years, aims to ease regulatory barriers to construction and growth, particularly in housing. The initiative is backed by Good Ventures, Stripe CEO Patrick Collison, and other donors. The fund will focus on advocacy, research, and policies to reduce burdensome regulations hindering infrastructure and housing development. Open Philanthropy is currently seeking a program lead to direct this new fund, which is expected to nearly triple their prior funding commitments in land use and innovation policy.
