Patel Engineering Ltd has announced a contract award valued at ₹7.98 billion (₹711 crore) for the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) of the 240 MW HEO hydropower project in Shi Yomi district, Arunachal Pradesh. Awarded by North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO), the project’s scope encompasses civil infrastructure development, hydro-mechanical installations, testing, and the commissioning of all power-generating units.
The facility will help harness the region’s hydroelectric potential and generate roughly 1,000 million units of energy annually, contributing to India’s renewable energy goals. Patel Engineering, which has a strong track record of delivering major dam, tunnel, and power projects nationwide, was declared the lowest bidder (L1) for the venture. Completion is scheduled in 44 months, marking another milestone in the company’s growing order book.
