The 2025 report by Wales' Future Generations Commissioner includes 50 practical proposals to meet climate, health, and economic challenges in a long-term strategy for well-being. Some of the key goals include nature restoration targets, an overall national strategy to develop food resilience, and ringfenced prevention budgets to counter inequality.

The initiative is based on Wales' Well-being of Future Generations Act, promoting inter-sector collaboration with the Future Generations Leadership Academy and Hwb Dyfodol, an inter-organizational platform for sustainable development. Over 300 representatives of 56 public organizations gathered at the Future Generations Action Summit to commit to scaling up solutions like a Real Living Wage and restoring trust in government.

Globally, Wales' system is expanding through the Future Generations Leadership Accelerator, engaging young leaders in 42+ countries to drive policy change towards the UN's 2030 Agenda.
