A global survey in eight markets discovers that kids from 5-12 years old do not crave mere entertainment-they crave friendship, fantasy, and adventure from their holidays. A whopping 90% of kids desire opportunities to make new friends, and 89% hope for holidays that take them into their favorite games, movies, and worlds of fantasy.
Fantasy play is the priority, with 85% wanting to be zookeepers, astronauts, or race car drivers for a day, turning holidays into action-packed fantasy adventures. Parents are increasingly tailoring vacations around these wishes, choosing destinations and hotels offering immersion experiences and opportunities for socialization for children.
This movement is in concert with the emergence of child-focused travel with 70% of families choosing to travel to places based on children's interests to experience enjoyable, memorable vacations that inspire creativity and lasting friendships.
