In a historic development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed aboard a C-130J Super Hercules at the newly inaugurated Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) in Dibrugarh, Assam. The 4.2-km stretch, built at a cost of nearly ₹100 crore, is the first-of-its-kind in Northeast India, designed to support emergency landings and take-offs of fighter jets, transport aircraft, and helicopters.
The Prime Minister, accompanied by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, witnessed a 20-minute aerial display showcasing the precision and capabilities of the Indian Air Force.
