PM Modi Launches Year-Long Tribute to Acharya Vidyanand—Jain Philosopher’s Legacy Takes Center Stage

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the centenary celebrations of Acharya Shri Vidyanand Ji Maharaj at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, marking the start of a year-long national tribute to one of India’s most revered Jain spiritual leaders. The event, organized by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Bhagwan Mahaveer Ahimsa Bharti Trust, began at 9 A.M., with the PM formally launching the programme around 11 A.M.

Acharya Vidyanand Ji, born in 1925 in Karnataka, authored over 50 scholarly works on Jain philosophy, ethics, and classical Indian languages. He was instrumental in the restoration of ancient Jain temples and the promotion of Prakrit and Sanskrit education. The centenary programme will feature cultural, literary, spiritual, and educational initiatives across India to spread his message of non-violence, ethical living, and social harmony.

The event was attended by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Jain Acharyas, scholars, and youth leaders from across the country.
