JSW Energy Ltd has taken a decisive leap toward its clean energy ambitions, signing a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NHPC Limited for a 300 MW solar-wind hybrid project. The project, secured through its subsidiary Energizent Power, will be developed across Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh and is slated for commissioning within the next 24 months. The agreed tariff stands at ₹3.49 per unit, ensuring long-term affordability and stability in power supply.

This hybrid project is a strategic piece in JSW Energy’s broader roadmap to achieve 30 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage by FY 2030. With 12.5 GW already operational and 12.8 GW under construction, the company’s locked-in capacity now stands at a robust 29.9 GW. The hybrid model—leveraging both solar and wind—enhances grid reliability and optimizes land and transmission infrastructure.

JSW Energy’s aggressive expansion aligns with its carbon neutrality target by 2050, reinforcing its commitment to India’s energy transition. The company also recently commissioned 281 MW of renewable capacity and signed additional PPAs with Adani Electricity Mumbai for 250 MW of wind power, further diversifying its renewable portfolio.

This latest PPA with NHPC not only strengthens JSW’s renewable credentials but also signals growing synergy between public and private players in India’s green energy ecosystem.
