Bollywood actor and Punjab Kings franchise owner Preity Zinta made a robust display of solidarity with India's military, donating ₹1.10 crore to the Indian Army's South Western Command's Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA). The moving donation during an emotional ceremony in Jaipur on May 24 comes on the heels of Operation Sindoor—India's swift response to the April terror strike at Pahalgam.

Zinta's donation, drawn from her share of Punjab Kings' Corporate Social Responsibility fund, is dedicated to empowering Veer Naris (war widows) and educating their children. While interacting with Army families and top defence functionaries, she said, "It's both an honour and a responsibility to support the courageous families of our soldiers.". While we will never be able to fully repay the sacrifices of our warfighters, we are able to stand alongside their families and support them in healing.

The action has been widely applauded for its patriotism and compassion, with Zinta reiterating her solidarity with the Indian forces and families and showing pride in the Indian military. The funds will be used for the direct requirements of the families of the deceased, providing a better tomorrow for the future generation.

Professionally, Zinta is coming back to the big screen after a long gap in 'Lahore 1947' opposite Sunny Deol.
