Indian Railways is significantly expanding its fleet of general and non-AC coaches to meet rising passenger demand. Over the next two fiscal years, 10,000 new non-AC coaches will be manufactured, increasing the total count by 22%. Additionally, 1,200 General Class coaches have been added to Mail and Express trains this year. The Railways also plans to produce 17,000 General and Sleeper Class coaches. This expansion aims to enhance passenger comfort and reduce overcrowding, particularly during peak travel seasons. The introduction of modern Amrit Bharat trains with improved amenities further underscores the commitment to providing better travel experiences.
