With the India Meteorological Department issuing widespread heavy rainfall alerts across multiple states, the government has swung into action, launching a comprehensive preparedness drive to safeguard lives and property as the monsoon approaches.

Rapid Deployment of Disaster Forces: The government has positioned 12 State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams, each comprising 100 specially trained policemen, across all major district headquarters. Three National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams are on standby in Hyderabad to ensure swift response in case of emergencies.

IMD Forecast: The IMD predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall in regions including Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Assam, and parts of Northeast India over the next week.
