Ranbir Kapoor has clarified that his lifestyle brand ARKS is not named after wife Alia Bhatt or daughter Raha, dispelling fan speculation. In a recent video, he shared its organic origin from sneakers, emphasizing its aesthetic appeal and plans for expansion into athleisure, underwear, and furniture.
Actor Ranbir Kapoor recently addressed widespread curiosity about the name of his premium lifestyle brand ARKS during a candid factory tour video shared on social media. Launched last year, ARKS has captured attention with its minimalist essentials like t-shirts, sweatshirts, polos, and sneakers for men and women, reflecting Kapoor's ethos of understated luxury and timeless style.
Fans had speculated that ARKS might be an acronym linked to his family Alia Bhatt (A), Raha Kapoor (R), and Kapoor himself (RK) but the 42-year-old star set the record straight. He explained that the name evolved naturally without a fixed meaning, starting as a simple idea for "a Ranbir Kapoor shoe" or even "Ranbir Kapoor studios." Ultimately, "when we heard the name ARKS, when we saw this logo, everything just came together," he said.
The video, posted on ARKS' official Instagram and YouTube, also featured Kapoor touring the manufacturing unit, previously owned by his brother-in-law Bharat Sahni. He reflected on personal evolution: "As I grow older, my desire for material things is growing lesser." ARKS fills the gap for everyday staples like t-shirts and denim jackets, but Kapoor envisions broader horizons.
