Royal Challengers Bengaluru's decision to appoint Rajat Patidar as captain for IPL 2025 has raised eyebrows. Team Director Mo Bobat explained their approach, stating, "We wanted to focus on assembling the right team, rather than just hunting for an individual that might fill a leadership role." RCB opted not to pursue high-profile captaincy options like KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, or Rishabh Pant in the auction, instead trusting their internal candidates.
