Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) will illuminate the sporting calendar once again as Season 12 is scheduled to kick off officially on August 29, 2025. The news came from organisers Mashal Sports, assuring fans of the most thrilling and competitive season ever, following a blockbuster player auction and rise of new kabaddi superstars.

Season 12 Start Date: The new season of PKL begins Friday, August 29, 2025, and 12 teams will vie to become kabaddi champions.
Champions Return: Haryana Steelers, who came home from their first title victory in Season 11, will seek to defend their title against a roster of strengthened opponents.
Record-Breaking Auction: May 31 and June 1 player auction in Mumbai saw a record 10 players cross the INR 1 crore mark. Iranian sensation Mohammadreza Shadloui was the most expensive player ever, picked up by Gujarat Giants for INR 2.23 crore, and Devank Dalal the most expensive Indian at INR 2.205 crore.
Record Competition: All 12 franchises have re-strengthened their teams, gearing up for tough competition and surprising outcomes.

Venues and Schedule: With the complete schedule and venues to be announced soon, we can expect 137 matches, league and playoff stages combined.
League Format: PKL will continue with a double round-robin format where every team plays every other team twice before the top six team make it to the playoffs.
