Indian women entrepreneurs in Malaysia are set for a transformative leap as Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) announces an additional RM50 million allocation under the Prosperity Empowerment and A New Normal for Indian Women (PENN 2.0) programme. This bold move doubles the total PENN fund to RM100 million, reflecting a strong commitment to empowering Indian women in business.

Key Highlights:

RM50 Million Fresh Funding: The new allocation aims to benefit over 10,000 Indian women entrepreneurs, both aspiring and existing, across Malaysia. This follows the success of PENN’s first phase, which supported 6,247 women and helped 1,062 new entrepreneurs launch their businesses.

Proven Impact: Recipients of PENN financing have reported income increases of 20–30%, showcasing the programme’s effectiveness in uplifting women and their families.

Broad Sector Support: The fund targets a wide range of sectors, including food, tailoring, beauty, and community services, encouraging women to diversify and scale their ventures.

Holistic Empowerment: Beyond financial aid, PENN 2.0 offers guidance, mentorship, and a robust support network, with the Malaysian Associated Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MAICCI) Women’s Wing playing a key role.

National Transformation: Since 1987, AIM has disbursed over RM35.9 billion, with a focus on eradicating poverty and fostering entrepreneurship among low-income groups, especially women.

This landmark initiative is set to unlock new opportunities, inspire confidence, and fuel a new generation of Indian women business leaders in Malaysia.
