Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: The Adventure Ally That Conquers Every Season

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has been an unapologetic all-rounder during our long-term test. With more than 4,000 kilometers of mixed terrain in eastern India, the Himalayan 450 has demonstrated enormous versatility and comfort. The ride that spanned a few states and mixed road conditions brought out the best in the bike's tough build, reliable performance, and capacity to soak up city runs and long highway miles.

 

Riders were impressed with the 450cc Sherpa engine's strong mid- and top-end pull, cruising triple-digit highway speeds effortlessly and offering enough torque to pass. Ergonomics, ride quality, and braking were particular areas of strength, and the Himalayan 450 was a comfortable traveling companion for long journeys. There are still some minor complaints, however, such as gearbox chatter, the occasional false neutrals in traffic, and a better headlight for nighttime highway cruising.

 

Despite all these quirks, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 remains a highly-recommended adventure bike, as worthy of its reputation as a friend for all seasons and all roads.
