Rozgar Mela 16th Edition: PM Modi to Distribute Over 51,000 Job Letters Nationwide

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates across central government departments on July 12, as part of the 16th Rozgar Mela. The event will be held simultaneously at 47 locations across India and streamed via video conferencing.

Key Highlights:

Appointees will join ministries including Railways, Home Affairs, Health & Family Welfare, Labour & Employment, Financial
Services, and Posts.
This marks one of the largest singleday distributions since the initiative began in October 2022.
Over 10 lakh appointment letters have been issued through Rozgar Melas to date.

Strategic Significance:

The initiative aims to fasttrack recruitment and reduce vacancies in public sector roles.
It supports the government’s broader employment generation goals under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Foundational training will be provided to recruits via the Karmayogi Prarambh module on the iGOT portal, offering over 1,400 elearning courses.

Economic Context:

India’s unemployment rate dipped to 7.1% in June 2025 from 7.4% in May, though concerns persist over informal job concentration.
The government is also expanding international employment opportunities, with visa agreements signed with 21 countries including Germany, Japan, and the UK.

PM Modi is expected to address the appointees, urging them to contribute to nationbuilding and highlighting employment as a cornerstone of India’s growth trajectory.
