RVNL Strikes Gold with South Central Railway: Electrification Project Set to Spark Regional Growth

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has secured a prestigious Letter of Award (LOA) from South Central Railway for a path-breaking project: upgradation of Overhead Equipment (OHE) system from 1X25kV to 2X25kV on Duvvada–Rajahmundry and Samalkot–Kakinada Port sections in Vijayawada Division, Andhra Pradesh. The ₹213.22 crore contract has 195.5 Route Kilometers (RKM) and 391 Track Kilometers (TKM) and needs to be completed in 24 months.

Scope: Design, supply, construction, testing, and commissioning for the upgrading of OHE, feeder, and earthing.
Route Coverage: Duvvada–Rajahmundry and Samalkot–Kakinada Port sections, the largest industrial and port connectivity corridors of Andhra Pradesh.
