The Travancore Devaswom Board and Kerala Police have mandated virtual queue bookings for devotees seeking darshan at Sabarimala Temple during the Mandala season starting November 16, 2025. This digital system aims to ensure crowd control, reduce waiting times, and enhance safety amid heavy pilgrim influx.
As the Mandala season at the iconic Sabarimala Temple approaches, authorities have announced that all devotees must secure darshan appointments by booking virtual queue tokens online through sabarimalaonline.org. This virtual queue booking system replaces traditional in-person queuing, enabling better management of the estimated 70,000 daily visitors.
The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), in collaboration with Kerala Police, has implemented a digital crowd management plan, ensuring orderly darshan amid massive pilgrim turnout. Spot bookings are capped at 20,000 daily, while most devotees must pre-book online sections available up to 15 days in advance.
Registration requires simple steps, including user creation, verification via OTP sent to email or mobile, and slot selection from a color-coded calendar displaying availability. The system allows devotees to book specific time slots or opt for anytime darshan within a chosen day or month.
Alongside booking facilitation, this move enhances pilgrim safety through controlled crowd inflow, minimized queue congestion, and improved monitoring. The Sabarimala temple will remain open from November 16 until December 27, with special arrangements like multiple nadapandals and a large German pandal for rest and refreshment.
