Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is set to visit Chhattisgarh today, marking a major milestone in rural development. As part of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin initiative, he will approve over three lakh new houses, reinforcing the government’s commitment to expanding housing access for rural communities.
Expanding Rural Housing:
- The flagship event will take place at the PG College Ground in Ambikapur, Surguja district, where Chouhan will formally inaugurate a series of welfare initiatives.
- The approval of new houses will push the total number of sanctioned homes in Chhattisgarh beyond eleven lakh, strengthening the vision of Housing for All.
- Chouhan will hand over symbolic keys to beneficiaries of PMAY-G and PM Janman Awas Yojana, celebrating the completion of their newly constructed homes.
- A housewarming ceremony will be conducted for fifty-one thousand beneficiaries, while a groundbreaking event will be held for those beginning construction.
- The visit will also recognize the contributions of Self-Help Group women, particularly the Lakhpati Didis, who have demonstrated excellence in rural entrepreneurship and financial self-reliance.
