Solar-Powered Journey: Axiom-4’s Cosmic Ride Lit by 230 Celestial Wake-Ups

Axiom-4 crew members have gone on amazing two-week space journey on the International Space Station (ISS), seen over 230 sunrises, and traveled almost 100 lakh kilometers in space. Indian Air Force Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, NASA veteran astronaut Peggy Whitson, Poland's Slawosz Uznanski, and Hungary's Tibor Kapu were in the crew.

The crew made the Earth orbit approximately 230 times, covering over 96.5 lakh kilometers

Launched on June 25 from Kennedy Space Center, Dragon docked with the ISS on June 26 following a 28-hour mission

The mission was Axiom Space's fourth commercial astronaut mission

Scientific Contributions

Over 60 experiments were performed, from biomedical science to neuroscience, and agriculture to advanced materials, and space technology

Shukla performed India's first space biology experiment, observing for moong and methi seed germination in microgravity

250 miles away from Earth, astronauts took breathtaking pictures, hugged loved ones and friends, and marveled at the beauty of the planet
