Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, starting on March 22, introduces deep rule changes for better gameplay and fairness. Some significant changes are:
• Saliva Ban Relaxed: Saliva use for ball shine is reinstated for bowlers, prohibited since 2020 due to COVID-19 rules. It's done to bring back reverse swing in T20 cricket.
• DRS for Wides and Height Wides: Hawk-Eye technology will now assist in checking for wide balls beyond off-stump and above the head level to make more accurate decisions.
• Second Ball for Night Games: To eliminate the dew factor, a second ball will be introduced after the 11th over in second innings of night games.
•\\tNo Bans for Captains on Over-Rates: Slow over-rates will result in demerit points instead of match bans to retain captains on the field.
These reforms ensure auspicious and a more fair coming season.
