On July 12, 2025, India welcomed back one of its most celebrated culinary icons—Chef Alfred Prasad, the youngest Indian to earn a Michelin star at age 29. After nearly two decades of redefining Indian cuisine in London, Chef Prasad has returned for what he calls a “dream homecoming”, now mentoring the Indian fine-dining restaurant Omya at The Oberoi, New Delhi.

Omya, meaning “the beautiful one” in Sanskrit, reflects Prasad’s vision of preserving India’s culinary heritage while appealing to contemporary palates.
