Supreme Power Equipment Ltd Launches Production at Chennai Unit, Enhancing Transformer Output

Supreme Power Equipment Ltd (SPEL) has officially commenced commercial production at its new transformer plant in Kannur, near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The facility began operations on February 25, 2026, marking a major milestone in the company’s expansion strategy.

The new unit enhances SPEL’s manufacturing capabilities, enabling production of transformers up to 200 MVA capacity and 220kV voltage class. With an annual output of 6,000–6,500 MVA, the plant raises the company’s total transformer manufacturing capacity to nearly 9,000 MVA, positioning SPEL to cater to higher voltage ranges and growing demand in India’s power transmission sector.
