The 39th edition of Surajkund International Crafts Mela 2026 has begun in Faridabad, Haryana, running from January 31 to February 15. The Surajkund International Crafts Mela 2026, inaugurated by Vice President CP Radhakrishnan, has officially kicked off in Faridabad. Celebrated as one of the largest cultural fairs in the world, the mela brings together artisans, performers, and visitors from across India and abroad. This year’s theme, “Local to Global,” highlights the rich traditions of Uttar Pradesh and Meghalaya while showcasing international art forms, with Egypt as the partner nation.
The fair is open daily from 10:30 am to 8:30 pm until February 15, transforming Surajkund into a vibrant hub of crafts, culture, and cuisine. Visitors can explore handwoven textiles, pottery, tribal jewelry, Madhubani paintings, and silk sarees, alongside Egypt’s pavilion inspired by pyramids and Cairo markets. Folk dances such as Bhangra and Ghoomar, along with hands-on workshops in pottery and weaving, add to the immersive experience.
