PV Sindhu struggled further as she went down to a first-round loss in the Swiss Open to Denmark's Julie Dawall Jakobsen 21-17, 21-19. Her excellent track record at Basel's St. Jakobshalle didn't count on Wednesday, though, as Sindhu struggled, taped up on a right thigh injury. Meanwhile, Kidambi Srikanth defeated HS Prannoy in a hard-fought battle, taking it 23-21, 23-21. This victory took Srikanth to the pre-quarterfinals, where he will hope to continue his run. Other Indians, including Isharani Baruah and Anupama Upadhyaya, also won their matches, providing some good news for the Indian team.
