TCPL Packaging will commission a new gravure cylinder manufacturing facility by FY2026, a strategic move to increase its flexible packaging strength and vertical integration. This follows the company's recent expansion with a state-of-the-art greenfield paperboard carton plant commissioned near Chennai earlier this year.

Key Highlights:
  • The new gravure cylinder manufacturing facility will complement TCPL's expanding flexible packaging business, which currently has several Bobst rotogravure presses operating at its Silvassa factory. The new facility will facilitate improved print quality control and increased turnaround time.
  • TCPL's flexible packaging segment is growing very fast, with the third Bobst gravure press recently inaugurated, taking monthly converting capacity to approximately 1,300–1,400 tons and aiming for 80% utilization by mid-2024.
  • The Chennai unit, measuring 100,000 sq ft at Vengal, Tamil Nadu, specializes in paperboard carton making and enhances TCPL's operational efficiency and service delivery in the high-potential market of Southern India.
  • Saket Kanoria, Managing Director, pointed out that the Chennai plant is an important milestone in TCPL's growth trajectory, improving logistics and facilitating the company's long-term vision of scalability and leadership in sustainable packaging.
TCPL is investing heavily in R&D and strengthening its product portfolio, such as innovations in mono-polymer recyclable films and green packaging solutions, to drive increasing domestic and export market share.

With these launches, TCPL Packaging is poised to take advantage of increasing demand for green packaging and sustain strong topline growth in FY2025 and beyond.
