Three Months In, Delhi’s Ayushman Card Makes a Real Difference

It’s been three months since the Ayushman Bharat health scheme launched in Delhi, and people are starting to talk about how it’s working in real life. The scheme offers up to ₹10 lakh in free medical coverage per family, and for many, it’s already proving to be a game changer.

More People Covered: Since April, over 2.4 lakh Delhi residents have received their Ayushman health cards. With these cards, they can get free treatment at 48 hospitals in the city.

Extra Support for Seniors: One of the big positives is that anyone over 70 can get the card, no matter their income. This has made a big difference for elderly residents who often need medical care the most.

Growing Hospital List: The government is adding more hospitals to the scheme, although some private hospitals are still cautious about joining due to concerns over payments.

Still Some Hiccups: While most cardholders are happy, there are a few bumps as hospitals and patients get used to the new system.
