A Push for Early Childhood Education Standards
The Punjab Department of Social Security and Women and Child Development issued a directive that all private and play-way schools in Amritsar need to be registered under the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) scheme on or before June 31. The initiative seeks to regularize and monitor the quality of education and care offered to children between the ages of three to six years.

Why Registration Matters
The ECCE scheme emphasizes child development in a holistic manner, making sure institutions achieve standardized criteria of learning and care.

Those schools that do not register will be put out of operation since authorities will carry out compliance checks throughout the district.

The initiative aims to hold institutions responsible for the quality of early education services.

Registration Procedure in Schools
Schools may apply online or approach the District Programme Officer's office located at 24, Majithia Road, Amritsar.

Application Form No. 1 is obtainable from the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of the concerned block.

School heads have been asked to register at once to escape penalties.

Penalties for Non-Compliance
Institutions that do not comply with ECCE requirements will be closed down.

Authorities have issued stern warnings to unregistered schools.

Registration provides transparency and accountability in early childhood education.

The Road Ahead
As the June 31 deadline draws near, schools have to act fast to ensure ECCE compliance. The program is anticipated to improve education quality and rationalize early learning programs in Amritsar.
